Billy passed the 3rd grade

As many of you have seen the movie Billy Madison, you know that Billy spent most of his days drinking with his friends and causing disturbances at his father’s lavish estate, with nothing but lots of time and excessive amounts of money at their disposal. Bottom line, who wouldn’t want to attend a party thrown by Billy…

A friend of mine organizes an annual “Billy Madison Day” themed pool party each summer. Each year the party outdoes the preceding year. This past weekend was the 4th annual Billy Madison Day and it proved to be bigger, badder, and better then last.

There was a bus charted from Manhattan to take us to the party, where sandwiches were thrown at the bus driver, banana peels thrown out the windows and beers were cracked to begin the day’s festivities. We spent most of the day chasing penguins and swooning over Veronica Vaughn. But in addition, we also enjoyed some games of beer pong, riding inflatable animal pool toys, music from a live cover band, Belvedere flavored snow cones, shots from the ice luge, and my personal favorite was the giant blowup slip and slide.

An entry fee of $25 is collected to donate to the ALS foundation, so even with all the debauchery we can all feel a little better about ourselves to be giving back to a worthy cause. Until next year, when Billy passes his next year in school and throws another party to celebrate.
